AFTER a break for friendly matches on the FIFA calendar, Azam FC finally returns to the field this Friday, to take on Fountain Gate in the NBC Premier League (NBCPL) encounter.

The match will be held at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium, where the Azam FC squad has arrived in Arusha, today Wednesday, fully prepared for the match of the 26th round of the league.

Azam FC has gone there with four players who were on duty with the Tanzania National Team 'Taifa Stars', which are goalkeepers Aishi Manula, Zuberi Foba, defenders Pascal Msindo, Lameck Lawi and Twalib Nuru.

In addition, there is a return of attacking midfielder, Zidane Sereri, who was out of the pitch for about two months due to knee injuries.

GOOD RECORD VS FOUNTAIN GATE

The boys from Azam Complex, have met Fountain Gate seven times in the league, and Friday's match being the eighth to meet.

Azam FC have good records against Fountain Gate in their last seven matches, winning five times, one match ending draw, and lose once.

A total of 13 goals have been scored in those seven matches, with Azam FC having a good goal-scoring average, having found the net of Fountain Gate nine times, while allowing their own net to be shaken four times.

The last time Azam FC played away against Fountain at the Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium, Manyara, Azam FC emerged victorious with a 3-2 goals, scored by Zidane Sereri, Abdul Sopu, and own goal by Jackson Shiga.

So far, Azam FC is in the race for the league championship, in third place after accumulating 52 points, six points ahead of second-placed Simba and eight points ahead of Yanga who are at the top with 60 points.
